Gnome

The most widespread small folk in Amantia — curious, inventive, and possessed of an arcane resistance that makes them frustrating to enchant. Gnomes are found in virtually every major civilisation, typically as tinkerers, scholars, illusionists, or eccentric experts in whatever niche they’ve decided to master.
Racial Traits (All Gnomes)
Creature Type: Humanoid Size: Small Darkvision: 60 ft. Gnomish Cunning: Advantage on Intelligence, Wisdom, and Charisma saving throws against magic. Languages: Gnomish + regional language.
Forest Gnome
The more common and sociable of the two subtypes. Forest Gnomes live in hidden communities tucked into woodland, and have a natural affinity for animals and illusion magic.
Key Traits:
- Natural Illusionist: Know the Minor Illusion cantrip. Intelligence is the spellcasting ability.
- Speak with Small Beasts: Communicate simple ideas to Small or smaller beasts.
Found In: Woodland communities throughout the Rose Subcontinent, the Siórtharan kingdoms, and the Holy Rose Empire.
Gray Gnome
Svirfneblin — deep gnomes adapted to life underground. Quieter, more cautious, and more magic-resistant than their forest cousins.
Key Traits:
- Stone Camouflage: Advantage on Dexterity (Stealth) checks in rocky underground terrain.
- Additional Magic Resistance: Disadvantage on attack rolls against you from magical sources; advantage on saves vs. spells.
- Superior Darkvision: 120 ft.
Found In: Underground communities; found near Durakhald and Duergar territories in Niflheim.
