Yuan-ti Pureblood

The most human-appearing of the yuan-ti — serpentine humanoids who can pass as human with careful grooming and deliberate suppression of their more obvious features. Yuan-ti culture prizes cold intelligence and a long view of history; they are patient in the way that only creatures who measure time in centuries can be.

Appearance
Human-like in build and proportion. The serpentine heritage shows in: slightly scaled skin (easy to miss with clothing); slit pupils; a faint, cold quality to the eyes; and a stillness of expression that most mammals don’t possess. They are often beautiful by conventional standards — Yuan-ti have long understood that appearing appealing is a social tool.
Society
Yuan-ti are not inherently evil, but their culture is built around a hierarchy of serpentine transformation — the more serpentine, the higher the status. Purebloods are the lowest caste among Yuan-ti but the most capable of operating in the wider world.
Found In
The Shessian Empire — a Yuan-ti and Vanakuti human shared civilisation in the Nesian subcontinent. Yuan-ti Purebloods are the most likely to be encountered outside this region.
