Character Classes in Amantia
Amantia uses the 2024 edition of Dungeons & Dragons, with classes framed to fit the realities of the Amantian setting. A class is not an abstract role — it is a lived identity with expectations, obligations, and consequences.
The Twelve Classes
| Class | Amantian Context |
|---|---|
| Barbarian | Arise from frontier cultures, sacred wilds, or traditions that prize endurance and ancestral memory over law or doctrine. |
| Bard | Serve as chroniclers, diplomats, spies, and cultural bridges — shaping events through influence as much as spellcraft. |
| Cleric | Draw divine power from active gods whose presence is felt across Amantia’s faiths. Bound closely to temples, sects, and divine mandates. |
| Druid | Stewards of natural and primal forces that predate empires. Often stand apart from political power, guarding sacred lands and ancient cycles. |
| Fighter | Masters of martial discipline. Emerge from mercenary companies, noble houses, tribal traditions, and frontier cultures. |
| Monk | Disciplined practitioners of body and spirit. Found in monasteries across all continents. |
| Paladin | Their oaths echo through religious orders, knightly traditions, and political powers. Deeply tied to the active pantheon. |
| Ranger | Wilderness specialists shaped by the frontiers and wild lands of Amantia. |
| Rogue | Found in every city, guild, and shadow — from guild thieves to court spies. |
| Sorcerer | Contend with competing magical philosophies, planar influences, and the lingering scars of ancient catastrophes. |
| Warlock | Pact-bound to patrons from Amantia’s active supernatural powers — fiends, elder gods, archfey, or stranger things. |
| Wizard | Part of competing magical traditions. The Galdravess Magocracy represents one of the most formalized arcane institutions. |
