Background
Nessa is Vesper Crowe’s mother. She and her husband Aldric Crowe remain in Ashveil, afflicted by the curse laid by Maren Voss. The hexblood mark is not in the family bloodline — it came entirely from Maren’s ritual. Nessa had no part in what was done to Vesper and no knowledge of what Maren truly was.
Vesper’s relationship with his parents carries love, guilt, and the weight of having brought Maren into the village — someone who ultimately destroyed it.
